Azolla: a type of aquatic ferns belonging to the family of Salviniaceae. It is also a type of green manure plant and is mostly used as a biofertiliser in agriculture because of its ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen and make it available for the plants.

Cyanobacterium or blue-green algae- these are a group of photosynthesising prokaryotes that has the ability to produce oxygen. Like the Azolla, they have the nitrogen-fixing capability and thereby can be used as biofertilizers for enhancing the crop yield.
