OK in simple words Jim is a lad helping his mother in a inn while silver is a pirate! Jim is good while silver is bad. Jim is loyal while silver is crook. Silver is animated and manipulative and Jim is a boy looking for an awesome adventure! And yea the similarity i could only find one but its simple both of them are flat characters
