1).They are soft metals, posses los melting & boiling points have the largest atomic radii in their corresponding periods and are good conductors of heat & electricity.

2). They have low values of ionisation enegies and are hence highly electropositive.

3). Except Be & Mg, they impact a characteristics colour to the flame.

4).The compounds of s-block elements are predominantly ionic & colourless.

5). They have great affinity for oxygen & non-metals. The oxide are basic. The hydroxide are strong Alkali.
