1. the followers of the bhakti moemnt came from all parts of india. 2. these men spoke the common language of the people and their teaching helpedto propagate the vernacular languages. 3. they preached that god was one. men should worship him with love and devotion. 4. bhkthi or devotion is superior to knowledge and karma (action). 5. devotion to god leads the soul to salvation. 6. religious rites , rituals and sacrifices are not of much value. man must surrender himself to god to obtain salvation. 7. all people are same before god, irrespective of caste creed or status in life. 8. a trueleader can lead a personto god. therefore, the bhakti cult lauid emphasis on the importance of the religious teacher.
