Properties of cathode rays :-

\Large \starThe cathode rays move from cathode to anode.

\Large \starThese rays are invisible but their behaviour can be observed with the help of fluorescent or phosphorescent material, which glow when hit by them.

\Large \starThese rays travel in straight lines in the absence of electric and magnetic field

\Large \starIn the presence of electric field they are detected towards anode and in magnetic field towards south pole.

\Large \starCathode rays contains a negatively charged particles called electrons.

\Large \starThe nature of cathode rays is found to be independent of nature of the cathode material and nature of the gas in the tube.

\Large \starHence electrons are considered as constituent particles of all atoms
