Srimanta Sankardeva was a great personality as he contributed to the Assam life and culture and had a great faith in the Vaishnav culture. He started writing poems and dramas and had translated Bhagavatam and it was his starting point of inspiration for Assamese literature. He wrote a poem Kirtana ghosha that reflected the culture and religion of Assam. His literature was mainly inspired by touches of local color and their life.
