Literally, the proverb talks about birds. It is common to see large groups of birds flying together. They feed, move and flock together. We cannot see a sparrow in the group of pigeons. Similarly, there are no flying birds amidst the water birds. You cannot see an eagle with a flock of ducks. What this means is that those of the same kind will flock together. You cannot force a different bird into the same-bird group. It will not fit it. This is similar to humans. People join and accompany the friendship of those in their same character. You cannot have a friendship with someone completely different in character with you.

So, here are the ideas for making a story.....

  1. I grew up with my father's old saying

of "birds of a feather flock together" as a

guiding rule for judging my acquaintances

and friends. But in this day and age I only

have to watch the birds or listen to the flock

of crows in tree, to know the truth of father's

saying related to birds as well as people. I

realize my father had wisdom and was only

trying to teach me a very important lesson

in life. Not only do birds of a feather flock

together but it is important that I harness

the skills to pick the right friends in this

world. He also advised that your ability to

pick friends who are trying to be successful

in this world could be a key ingredient to you

being successful in this world! Live your life

inspiring others and being a role model.

2. "Of a feather means with the same kind

of feathers; and Birds of a feather are

birds of the same kind. So birds of the

same kind naturally go together, and do

not live with birds of other kinds.Crows

flock together with crows, sparrows with

sparrows, and pigeons with pigeons. But the

proverb, aithough it mentions only birds but

technically used for humans.

3. You can see this in action in so many

instances. Groups of people all thinking

doing and sometimes even saying the

same things, all seem to appear in the same

places, together! Some of these groups are

doing posítive things and some negative

and there are a whole range of groups in

between. You can usually notice these birds

of a feather all agreeing with each other

about some crazy thing and of course also

agreeing they are right about whatever that

crazy thing is!. they are more comfortable

being with people who they have something

in common with... anyway, it's not only about

having things in common it's more like

having the same background. You will always

notice that people who have the same liking,

interest, hobbies or preference are always

found together. They like to participate in

the same kind of activities or talk about their

common pursuits and so you will always see

them together.

  • The proverb also has a deeper meaning. A man’s character can be determined by the company he keeps. A wicked person will be seen in the company of wicked. A religious person cannot be found in the group of drunkards. Moreover, when you are accompanying with refined men, you are sure to become refined as well. Likewise, a character of a man is enhanced by the friendships he forms.

Pic up the ideas you want to add in your story.

Hope I'm helping.
