Haritha Haaram, is the brain child of Telangana State Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao. He has launched it on July 5 2015 with an aim to increase the tree cover in the Telangana State.
I felt very happy when I heard about this mission because now-a-days many people are cutting down trees for building apartments, malls etc. He has not just launched the programme but also has asked every person to plant one sapling

●Telangana Haritha Haram:
Telangana Ku Haritha Haram, a flagship programme of the Telangana Government envisages to increase the present 24% tree cover in the State to 33% of the total geographical area of the State. The thrust areas to achieve the above are two-fold; one, initiatives in notified forest areas, and the other, initiatives in areas outside the notified forest areas.
The first objective is sought to be achieved by a multi-pronged approach of rejuvenating degraded forests, ensuring more effective protection of forests against smuggling, encroachment, fire, grazing and intensive soil and moisture conservation measures following the watershed approach.
In continuation to the decision of the Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao to initiate large-scale tree plantation across the state as part of the Telangana ku Haritha Haram programme, the HMDA has opened a Helpline No.7306780790 with Extension No.6 to facilitate distribution of plants on free of cost to the public under the state flagship programme. The concerned staff of HMDA will give the information on the availability of varieties of plants in at least 73 HMDA nurseries and guide the public for the lifting of plants from nearby nurseries. It is requested to contact the Helpline No 7306780790 with Extension No.6 for the requirement of plants and further information. The details of HMDA nurseries can be seen in the website www.greenhyderabad.cgg.gov.in
