Limitations of First Law of Thermodynamics. First law does not provide a clear idea about the direction of absorption or evolution of heat. The informations provided by the first law of thermodynamics are not enough to predict the spontaneity or feasibility of a process.

The Third Law of Thermodynamics means that as the temperature of a system approaches absolute zero, its entropy approaches a constant (for pure perfect crystals, this constant is zero).
