Explanation: If n is a positive integer then the absolute value of  n  is  n .    If  n=0  then the absolute value of  n  is  0 .   If n  is a negative integer then the absolute value of n  is the additive inverse of n , which is obtained from n  by removing the minus sign from the front of n , or equivalently by multiplying n  by  − 1 .

Here, the absolute value of +451 is 451, and the absolute value of -451 is 451.
