Holi is one of the most famous festivals of India. It is do called because of the king Hiranyakashyapu, who ordered his sister, Holika to sit on the fire with his son as he didn't worship him but worshipped Vishnu Lord instead. However Hiranyakashyapu's son was saved and Holika died. Hence people burn the bad and dirt out of their minds during the Holika Dahan. Holi is celebrated in different countries with different names -
- Rangamanchami in Maharashtra.
- Lathmar in Uttar Pradesh
- Shigmo in Goa
- Dol in West Bengal etc.
