When Ethanol is heated with concentrated sulphuric acid at 443 K , then " dehydration " reaction takes place to form " ethene and water " .
The reaction is :-
C2H5OH + H2SO4 ---> C2H4 + H2O
Here , Sulphuric acid us used as a catalyst .
