Central idea of the poem is that "Time is the only immortal, no sculptures, no mighty king can challenge time and the eternal nature".

The poem "Ozymandias" is written by P.B. Shelley.

The central idea behind the poem is that the time is all powerful . Nothing remains behind the ravages of time. The kingly powers of kings all become waste in front of time.

The poem recounts the words of a traveller who tells a description of what he saw during his journey.

He tells that the statue of king Ozymadias was lying broken and mixed up with sand. There was a pulpit on which the word "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings" were inscribed.

This shows that the king was a real snob that he calls himself the king of kings but all his powers were futile in front of time. Now, his statue, statue of such powerful king was mixed with sand and teaching a lesson to the people that never be proud of your victories and wealth.
