Mathmagician
Explanation:
- The Mathemagician is a character who can work magic with math! When Milo reaches Digitopolis, where mathematics is most important, he meets the Mathemagician
- He was wearing a long streaming robe secured completely with complex numerical conditions and a tall pointed top that made him look exceptionally savvy. In his left hand he conveyed a long staff with a pencil point toward one side and a huge elastic eraser at the other.''
- The Magic Staff : As Milo learns, the Mathemagician's staff is an enchantment staff. To get them from the number mine to his workshop, he raises his magic staff and begins erasing the ceiling, and ''the cavern, the miners, and the Dodecahedron had vanished, leaving just the four of them standing in the Mathemagician's workshop. 'I often find,' he casually explained to his dazed visitors, 'that the best way to get from one place to another is to erase everything and begin again''
- When the Mathemagician needs to be in several places at once, he shows Milo that he can multiply. ''Suddenly there were seven Mathemagicians standing side by side, and each one looked exactly like the other.'' When Milo asks how he did it, the seven Mathemagicians reply, ''There's nothing to it…if you have a magic staff''
- But the Humbug says the magic staff is nothing more than a large pencil. The Mathemagician agrees, '' 'True enough…but once you learn to use it, there's no end to what you can do.' '' This shows Milo that anyone can do 'magic' with numbers once they learn how, and that learning how to do math will let him do many things
