Mrs. Bramble was an amiable, domestic woman who was always engrossed in Bill, her husband, and Harold, her son. She loved her family very much. Mrs. Bramble was proud of her prodigy son, Harold. Harold was so different from ordinary children, so devoted to his books, such a model of behaviour, so altogether admirable. Unlike his father who was a perfect epitome of physical strength and alacrity, Harold had shown extraordinary signs of intelligence and goodness in his behavior. He was academically brilliant; he had already won two prizes at the Sunday-school and a dictation and spelling prize at school. She was extremely proud of her son’s intelligence. She took great care of him and ensured he took proper breaks from his studies. She is quite much worried about the future of Harold. She has a strong wish that Bill should win his last bout and then start his career anew as a boxing instructor at a school. She had a lot of influence in the family. Bill and Percy both were submissive to her wishes.
