Write the characteristics of Thallophytes, Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Angiosperms.

  • dont have well differentiated body

  • algae is common word used
  • examples are spirogyra,ulva,chara

bryophyta:

  • differentiated to form stem ,leaf like structure
  • do not have xylem and phloem
  • also called amphibians of plant kingdom
  • examples are moss, marchantia

Pteridophyta:

  • differentiated into roots ,stem and leaves
  • have xylem and phloem
  • examples ate marsilea ,ferns, horse tails

Gymnosperms:

  • derived from greek
  • are naked seed
  • are perenial ,evergteen and woody

Angiosperms:

  • greek word
  • are covered seeds
  • develop inside ovary
  • have cotyledons
