Bleaching Powder is basically a calcium salt called Calcium Oxychloride (CaOCl2)
Chemical name :- Calcium Oxychloride
Formula :- CaOCl2
Preparation :- Bleaching powder is manufacture by the action of chlorine on dry slaked lime [Ca(OH)2]
Ca(OH)2 +Cl2 =CaOCl2 + H2O.
(SLAKED LIME) +(Chlorine gas) = (Bleaching powder) +(water)
USES:-
For bleaching cotton,Linen in textile industry.For bleaching washed clothes in industry.
