Hi, please consider the answer below;

The chemical reaction involved in extraction of copper from copper pyrites using limited supply of air in reverberatory furnace.

The first reaction is the conversion of copper pyrite to iron sulphide, copper sulphide and suphur (IV) is evolved.

  2CuFeS2 + O2 -------> Cu2S + 2FeS + SO2

Then what follows is a series of reactions which lead to the formation of copper oxide which is further reduced to copper

2Cu2S + 3O2 -------> 2Cu2O + 2SO2

Cu2S + 2Cu2O -------> 6Cu + SO2
