The mean of salaries = Rs 6,600, median = Rs 7,000, mode = Rs 7,000

  • Given salaries in ascending order are

        5,000; 5,000; 5,000; 7,000; 7,000; 7,000; 7,000; 7,000; 8,000; 8,000

MEAN:

  • Mean = (sum of salaries)/(number of employees)

          Mean=\frac{5000+5000+5000+7000+7000+7000+7000+7000+8000+8000}{10}

          Mean=\frac{66000}{10}\\

          Mean=6,600

MEDIAN:

  • We have even number of observations, hence median is the average of middle two observations

          Median=\frac{7000+7000}{2}

          Median=\frac{14000}{2}

          Median=7,000

MODE:

  • Mode is the most repeated observation in given data. 7,000 is the salary with highest frequency i.e, 5.

           Mode=7,000
