Answer⏬
☞ BromoEthane (CH3CH2Br) Ethane (CH3CH3)
Add HBr into the solution to Gain H+ and Br-
☞ Br- will attack on CH2Br bond as it is electron rich. After breaking of the bond we get Br+ and CH3CH2–.
☞ Because H+Br- is still present in the medium it reacts with newly formed cations and anions giving : Br2 and CH3CH3 .
☞ (As CH3CH2– has a negative charge and HBr on breaking gives H+ and Br- . Also Br- and Br+ combine to become Br2).
Hence the Reaction
All the best :)
