Answer:

A house fly has two clear wings and two halters. Which are modified wings used for balance. A butterfly has four proper wings which are usually brightly coloured. A housefly is a scavenger and recycler, its larvae eat the rotting carcases of dead animals and so redistribute the nutrients back to the fields ( so don’t kill them unless you are willing to take the dead flies out and dump them in your lawn). Butterflies are nectar eaters and their larvae (caterpillars) usually eat the leaves of flowering plants and trees.
