Burial System in the Vedic Age:

Generally, the burial system in Vedic age was the grave burial system. The body was buried in the ground. The head was faced towards the north side. The legs were in a straight position. But in some areas, we found the burials in the house courtyards. The legs were crossed but not straight. This burial system is common in nowadays.

Burial System in Harappan Civilization:

Archaeologists found three types of burial practises in Indus Valley civilization. First one was a coffin burial system in places like Lothal. They found a coffin burial system where the body was kept in a coffin and buried. The second one was a multiple burial system where two bodies were buried in the same place. Historians discovered it as the practice of Sati. In some places, dogs were buried along with the master. The third practice was bodies buried under the house.

However, there are some similarities in burial system in both Vedic age and Harappan Civilization.
