An Ideal fluid is a conceptual fluidhaving zero viscosity i.e It can move without energy loss due to friction and incompressibilty i.e. density is constant throughout flow. Realistically speaking no fluid is Ideal fluid but the concept is very important part of fluidmechanics.

An ideal fluid is a fluid that has several properties including the fact that it is:

• Incompressible – the density is constant

• Irrotational – the flow is smooth, no turbulence
