2. pronoun         -  used in place of noun

3. verb                 -  action or expression
He brought a car -  brought is a verb

4. adjective         - describes  a noun/pronoun
She is pretty       -  pretty is a adjective

5. adverb           -  describes another verb/noun/adjective/adverb itself
She wrote a very long essay  -  very is an adverb, long is an adverb

6. preposition    -  placed before noun/pronoun 
He got this from the shop - from is the preposition, he and shop are nouns.

7. conjunction                     -  joins sentences
She came home and slept  - and is the conjunction 

8. interjection                      -  word expressing emotions
Wow, the food is so good   -  wow is an interjection
