1) A compound is formed when 2 or more substances combine chemically and and a new substance is formed. A mixture is formed when two or more substances combibe physically and no new substance is formed
2) The constituents of a mixture retain their property. But the properties of compounds are completely different from it's constituents.
For example - Hydrogen is an inflammable gas and oxygen is a gas that supports combustion. But water is composed of both these atoms and is neither inflammable nor supports combustion.
3) The constituents of a mixture can be easily seperated by physical methods but the constituents of a compound can be only seperated by chemical methods.
