Write the difference between DISTANCE and DIISPLACEMENT.
Answers
Distance is the length of point A to C. Displacement is the length of the shortest path from A to C.
For example:
Distance from A to C is 10 km.
But Displacement will be 5 km as it is a shorter path.
Answer:
Distance- A distance is the length of total journey from point A to B. For example- Your home is at point A and your friend's home is point B and the distance is 1 km and on the way, you have to go to a bookshop which is point C 500 metres from your home, then distance will be the total length of whole journey that is 1.5km.
Displacement- A displacement is the shortest line that joins the point A to point B in a given direction.
For example - The shortest length between your and your friend's home is just 750m. So displacement will be 750m towards North.
