Write the difference between speed and velocity


dahiya2: Speed is the distance traveled by an object where as, velocity is distance traveled by an object per unit time in a particular direction. Speed is a scalar quantity where as velocity is a vector quantity.
Deepuu1: velocity is displacement of an object per unit time .
Deepuu1: speed is distance travelled per unit time

speed :1= scaler quantity
2=actual path length per unit time
3= it has magnitude only
4= it cannot be zero
velocity :1 vector quantity
2=shortest path length per unit time
3=it has magnitude as well as direction
4= it can be zero or negative
