Write the dimensions of the following in the terms of "mass" , "time" , "length and charge" (a) Megnetic flux (b) Rigulity modus.

(a) Magnetic flux Ф

  • Ф = B × A
  • where, B = magnetic field and A = cross-sectional area perpendicular to magnetic field
  • SI unit of magnetic flux is Weber = Volt - sec = IRt = work - second /charge = ML²/Q

(b) Rigulity modulus G

  • G = Shear stress/ shear strain
  • G = F * x/ (A * Δx) = M/(L×T²)

The dimensions of

(a) Magnetic flux is ML²/Q, that is, mass × length² / charge

(b) Rigulity modulus is M/(L×T²), that is, mass / (length × time²)
