During the derivation of the formula for the variation of g with height we found that g' = g(1- h/R)^-2,

g' =  \frac{g}{ { (1- h/R) }^{2} }

where, h is the height of the object from the surface, R is the radius of the earth and g is the acceleration due to gravity at the surface.

At the poles it is 9.832m/s² and

at the equator it is 9.780m/s²
