Heat produced, H= I2 Rt, where 't' stands for time, for which current I is passed through the conductor.

 As heat is directly related to resistance ... more resistance will create more heat ... moreover more time interval for which current pass will also produce more heat thus the relation is provided as

                        H = I^2 Rt
