Given polynomial,

p(x)= {x}^{2}-9

But, 9= {3}^{2}

Therefore, putting the value of 9,

we get,

=> p(x)= {x}^{2}-{3}^{2}

Now, we know the algebraic identity,

{a}^{2}-{b}^{2}=(a+b)(a-b)

So,

In the given simplified polynomial,

a = x and b = 3

Putting the respective values, we get

=> p(x)= {x}^{2}-{3}^{2}=(x+3)(x-3)

Now, the given polynomial is factorised .

Hence, the factors of the given polynomial are

\bold{(x+3)}\:and\:\bold{(x-3)}
