Let the number be = x

We have to subtract it from 6 times if 3 = 6 * x

= 6x

Form the the equation formed will be =

6x - 3 = 9

Your answer is upto this .. if you are asked to solve the equation , then further you can solve it like this...

On solving it , we get

6x = 9 + 3

6x = 12

x = 12 ÷ 6

x = 2
