Gypsum is formed when one and a 1/2 water molecule is added to the plaster of Paris.

Reaction :


CaSO4. 1/2H2O + 1 1/2 H2O ------> CaSO4. H2O


USES :

1. Used in laboratory as a reagant.
2. Used in preparation of plaster of Paris.
3. Used in decorating walls and pillars.
