Mode of Grouped Data

Mode is the value of the variable which has the maximum frequency. The mode of a grouped frequency distribution may be calculated by using this formula;

Mode=l+\frac{f-{{f}_{1}}}{2f-{{f}_{1}}-{{f}_{2}}}\times h,

Where,

l = is the lower limit of the modal class,

h = the size of the class,

f_1 = frequency of the modal class and

f = the frequencies of the classes preceding

f_2 = Succeeding the modal class, respectively.
