Blood plays a very crucial role in our body.

1.Connective tissue

blood is called connective tissue due to its fluid matrix.

Blood networks throughout the body hence brings in the required hormones, nutrients and other related signalling molecules. It also eliminates wastes.

2. Respiration

blood contain red blood cells which consist of a transportation pigment called haemoglobin. hemoglobin has the ability to carry oxygen to all the parts of the body and hence help in providing energy and playing a major role in the process of respiration .

blood also help in the exchange of carbon dioxide gas from the body.

3.wounds

it also consists of of platelets which are present at the site of injury and act as a protective coating on the wound . when the brain sends the message of injury it reaches there and does the process of blood clotting .

4.Immunity

blood contains another substance called white blood cells or leukocytes which act as soldiers of the body and fights with all the germs or disease causing microbes which enter our body.

Blood also help in maintaining the PH , salt , water requirement in the body.
