The particles result in air pollution and cause respiratory diseases such as respiratory illness, lung damage, ozone (smog) effect, reduces the ability of blood to bring oxygen to the blood cells and tissues, liver and kidney etc.

  • Carbon fuels such as wood, coal, petroleum release unburnt carbon particles in the environment. These particles are very dangerous pollutants and cause respiratory diseases for example asthma. When fuels are incompletely burnt, they release carbon monoxide gas into the atmosphere.
