Importance of Animal cell: -

Cells carry out all the processes of the body including producing and storing energy, making proteins, replicating the DNA and transportation of the moleculea through the body.

Animal cell consists of many organells: -

1. Nucleus: - Regulates cell division. If the nucleus is removed the cell dies. It contains chromosomes which bears the genes that control hereditary characters

2. Cell membrane: - It is semi-permeable and it is made up of lipoprotiens. It regulates the entry of certain solutes and ions. It maintains the shape of the animal cell.

3.Cytoplasm: - All metabolic activities occur in the cytoplasm of the cell. It contains different organelles which perform different functions.

4. Endoplasmic Reticulum: - It acts as a supportive framework for the cell. It helps in the synthesis of proteins and fats.

5. Mitochondria: - It regulate cell division. If it is removed the cell dies .It is the powerhouse of the cell .It contains its own ribosomes. Mitochondria have their own DNA containing several genes.

6.Golgi apparatus: - it helps in the synthesis and secretion of enzymes and hormones it helps in the formation of acrosome of sperm.

7. Ribosomes: - it helps in the synthesis of proteins.

8. Lysosomes: - lysosomes her also known as suicide bags. it helps in the intracellular digestion it destroys foreign substances.

9. Centrosomes: - it initiates and regulates cell division.
