LIMITATIONS OF NEWLAND'S OCTAVES :

1)Newlands law of octaves is applivable to only the first few elements, ie. ,only up to the calcium out of 56 elements known at that time.
2)After calcium, every eighth element did not possess the properties to those of the first.
3)The inert gases had not been discovered at the time of Newlands. If the inert gases are included in the arrangement, the law does not hold good.

Hope it helps you!
