- ANTARCTICA- The geology of Antarctica is well known enough to forecast the occurrence of a range of mineral deposits, some of which are likely to be considerable. The quantity of coal reserves in the Transantarctic Mountains and iron deposits in the Prince Charles Mountains of East Antarctica is expected to be large.
