Answer

Acid dissociate H+ ions in aqueous solution & turns blue litmus to red while base dissociate OH- ion in aqueous solution & turns red litmus to blue.

Neutralization is the process in which neutral salt are formed when acid & base reacts with each other.

Ex - NaOH + HCl---> NaCl+ H2O

Formation of

I) acidic salt

when strong acid react with weak base , acidic salt is formed.

ii) basic salt

when weak acid react with strong base, basic salt is formed.

Ex- NaOH + HCO3----> NaHCO3 + H2O

iii)Neutral salt

when strong acid react with strong base or weak acid react with weak base,neutral salt is formed.

Ex- NaOH + HCl----> NaCl + H2O

Answer:

acid:

* it furnishes H+ ions

*it turns blue to red litmus

*it is sour in taste

*non metals are acidic in nature

* HCl,Ch3CooH,.....

base:

* it furnishes OH- ions

*it turns red to blue litmus

*it is bitter in taste and soapy to

touch.

*metals are basic in nature

*NaoH,KoH,........

Neutralization:

the reaction in which acid reacts with base to give salt and water

HCL+NaoH------------>NaCl+H2o

Explanation:

Hope it helps you!!
