No chemical reaction takes place during the formation of mixture and all the constituents retain their properties. Ex- Salad. A solution is a special type of homogeneous mixture formed by mixing solute and solvent. In a solution, the solute and solvent are mixed chemically and can be separated only by chemical methods. Ex- Salt and water.
