Humans= These toxic substances have to be removed as they are harmful if allowed to accumulate. The removal of metabolic waste products from the body of an organism is known as excretion. The major excretory products are carbon dioxide, excess water, and nitrogenous compoundslike ammonia, urea, uric acid, etc.

Fish=For this reason, ammonia is replaced by the non toxic trimethyl amine oxide which requires very little water for excretion. Reptiles, insects and birds excrete nitrogenous waste as uric acid, which un like urea, is insoluble in water and as a result water is extensively removed from the uric acid as its being excreted.


Birds=Nitrogenous wastes in the body tend to form toxic ammonia, which must be excreted. Mammals such as humans excrete urea, while birds, reptiles, and some terrestrial invertebrates produceuric acid as waste.
