•Plaster of paris: It is synthesized from gypsum(CaSo4.2H2O). When gypsum is heated at 373k, it loses its water molecules to become Calcium sulphate (plaster of paris).
•Washing soda : It is synthesized through solvay's process that involves reaction of Nacl,NH3,Co2 in water. Co2 involved is produced through CaCo3 and the calcium oxide left is used in recovering NH3 from ammonium chloride.
At 1st sodium bicarbonate is obtained whis is then converted to sodium carbonate on heating. Finally washing soda is produced by recrystallisation of sodium carbonate.
