Question:

write the mass of 1 mole of nitrogen.  How to find out.

Answer and explanation:

You must know that 1 mole of any substance contains 6.022 x 10²³ atoms

You must have to check whether it is mono-atomic (only N) or it is di-atomic (N₂)

¹⁴₇N In this, the number below represents the number of protons and the number above represents mass number

If it is mono-atomic, then, no. of protons = 7 and no. of neutrons in N is also Mass no. - atomic no =  14 - 7 = 7

Just easy, 14 g is your answer (How?)

look at the mass number, and just put g (this is a quick method)

If it is  di -atomic = N₂

Look there are 2 nitrogen atoms, then, already know that one mole of nitrogen atoms weigh 14 g

So, one mole of N₂ will weigh: 14 + 14 = 28
