Cut the red cabbage into small pieces or slices. Cover 2-3 cups with water and place in a saucepan.
Heat the solution till it boils and then turn off the heat. Allow the solution to get cooled down. For that wait for about 30 minutes.
Take a jar or a large measuring cup and pour the cabbage water through a strainer into it. The purple liquid (dark) in the jar is the indicator you are looking for.
You can make ice cubes of the red cabbage indicator by simply pouring the cabbage indicator liquid into the compartments of an ice cube tray and keeping it for couple of hours so that it gets freezed.
