Expression for mirror formula is 1/u+1/v=1/f

Here u=object distance as measured from pole of the mirror and V=image distance and f being the focal length of the mirror.

The values of all these parameters should be used by taking into consideration the following signconventions in measurement of distances in case of mirrors :-

1 )All distances are measured from pole of mirror

2) Distances measured in the direction of light are taken as positive and those               measured opposite to it are taken as negative .
