Write the name of few yagnas performed in present days and its importance

This question was waiting for an answer from long time and I wanted to answer it. It took a lot of time, phone calls and reading to arrive at the elaborate information.

It cannot be shortened , hence feel free to read this long answer ! or save for reading later.

I would not write this only in the devotional aspect. I will try to bring in practicality along with devotion and spiritual meaning.

Introduction for Non Indians and for people who are not exposed to Hindu culture

A Yajna is also called Homa, Havana - Literal meaning is sacrifices, often in fire. If you look at scriptures every dedicated work we do is comparable to Yajna. Every dedicated good deed covered , all of the thing we do for the self and society. Feeding people, Education, Meditation....
Yajna is some time mis-spelt and mis-pronounced as Yagna


Use

When we chant we try to involve our mind,Ears, Mouth, Nose ( breathing ). This is to bring sync among our body and mind. it is done to burn any materialistic desires , get peace, clear obstacles etc.

The next level of chanting is Yajna, in which we involve eyes and body (touch) too. This will multiply the effect. When we wish and offer something into fire we are fully involved and get the feeling of accomplishment. When we deeply believe in the result with such an involvement, the theory of attraction starts working and we get the results.



Which Yajna for what result

I have tagged Astrology and Horoscope into this question as, most of us want to perform Yajna to fulfill some material desire or want to get out of trouble. The cause of trouble is identified by Astrology and Horoscope.

Main objective I have underlined when it has multiple purposes. 
Those more powerful and take considerable time ( more than 2 hours) I have made it bold.
