Zinc carbon batteries are the first commercial dry batteries developed.
Reaction at anode

Zn(s)   →   Zn2+(aq)  +  2 e−

 Reaction at cathode

2 MnO2(s)  +   2 e−  +  2 NH4Cl(aq)   →   Mn2O3(s)  +  2 NH3(aq)  +  H2O(l)  +  2 Cl−

Hey !!

Dry cell / Leclanche cell

Anode : Zn(s) -----> Zn²⁺ + 2e⁻

Cathode : MnO₂ + NH₄⁺ + e⁻ -----> MnO(OH) + NH₃

Good luck !!
