* Madras- The number of schools and colleges in Madras Presidency according to 1826 report were 12,498 and the number of students were 188650. Thus there was one school of every 500 students excluding women.

* Bombay- According to its report of 1829 the number of schools were 1704 for the students whose number were 35153, which is almost as equal as Madras.

* Bengal- In this there was person named as Adam who has presented 3 reports from 1835-1838 based on the education system in Bengal.
