Write the nth term of arithmetic sequence 10,16,22....

EXPLANATION.

  • GIVEN

sequence will given as = 10,16,22......

To find nth term of Ap

Let first term of Ap = 10

common difference = d = b - a = 16 - 10 = 6

Formula of Nth term

 a_{n} = a \:  +  \: (n - 1)d

 a_{n}  = 10 + (n - 1)6

a_{n}  = 10 + 6n - 6

a_{n} = 6n \:  +  \: 4

VERIFICATION

a _{n} = 6n + 4

put n = 1

6(1) + 4 = 10

put n = 2

6(2) + 4 = 16

put n = 3

6(3) + 4 = 22

put n = 4

6(4) + 4 = 28

Therefore,

sequence will be = 10,16,22,28 .....
